Join us on Friday, October 2, at 5:30 PM in the Patton Center for an evening reception and special presentation kicking off Island Science Day at The University of Texas Marine Science Institute.
This special gathering will celebrate 85 years of marine science at UTMSI and 20 years of coastal stewardship, research, and community engagement through the Mission-Aransas National Estuarine Research Reserve. Guests will enjoy a featured presentation, “From Vision to Discovery: The Story of UTMSI and What Lies Ahead,” highlighting the Institute’s history, scientific contributions, and future of marine research and discovery.
The evening will also include a special interactive activity, along with opportunities to connect with researchers, community members, and supporters ahead of Island Science Day on Saturday, October 3.
We hope you will join us as we celebrate decades of discovery, collaboration, and commitment to understanding and protecting our coastal environments.
