The R/V Katy

The R/V KATY is a 57-foot research vessel that is located in Port Aransas, Texas, on the campus of UT Marine Science Institute, and is available to visiting groups through a reservation. This research vessel takes groups out into the ship channel for educational programs to investigate our unique ecosystem. The R/V Katy’s capacity is 25 persons, not including crew, per trip. Minimum grade for the R/V Katy is 5th grade, with no exceptions.

The Curt Johnson

The Curt Johnson is 28-foot Munson is a landing craft that is powered by two 200-HP outboards. It has an 8.5-foot beam, davit, bimni top, spud pole for shallow water and 2 jack plates. It drafts about 14-16 inches of water. Capacity of 16 people or 3,000 lbs.
