Facilities

The Patton Center for Marine Science Education is on the campus of UT Marine Science Institute and offers a window into local research and wildlife found within the Mission-Aransas Estuary as well as the surrounding coastal ecosystems. Engage with the Estuary Explorium’s interactive and interpretive graphics or view the living displays in the aquaria. (855 E. Cotter Ave, Port Aransas, Texas 78373). Open Tuesday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Adjacent to the Patton Center in Port Aransas is the Wetland Education Center (WEC) trail, which includes the winds through a dune and along a tidal marsh.  Public tours are available for FREE every Tuesday and Thursday. Tours begin at 9 a.m. and last 45 minutes to 1 hour. Please meet your guide at the Wetlands Education Center entrance (855 E. Cotter Ave, Port Aransas, Texas 78373). Visit the Bay Education Center in Rockport, Texas, to learn about the Mission-Aransas Estuary Reserve and its unique ecosystems, wildlife and conservation, and research programs.
